MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills

Applications are now open for the MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training Programme 2026, Phase 8.

The five-week programme will train 3,000 young Nigerian female microbusiness owners in practical ICT, digital and business skills.

Participants will learn through online modules, instructor-led sessions, entrepreneur masterclasses and a capstone project. Participants will also receive data support throughout the training.

The top 100 participants will have an opportunity to receive equipment grants of up to ₦1,000,000 from a ₦100,000,000 fund.

MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 8

The MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 8 is designed to help young female microbusiness owners develop practical skills for running and growing their businesses.

The five-week training will use a blended-learning approach. Participants will combine self-paced online learning with instructor-led training and masterclasses from experienced entrepreneurs.

Phase 8 will train 3,000 female microbusiness owners from six states:

  • Rivers
  • Abia
  • Ogun
  • Kwara
  • Kano
  • Gombe

About the MTN Foundation Programme

The MTN Foundation Programme has supported the development of young microbusiness owners through previous phases of the ICT and Business Skills Training initiative.

Since 2018, seven phases have been completed in collaboration with organisations including Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Cisco, Meta and Microsoft.

The programme has reached 29 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

A total of 15,362 young microbusiness owners have completed the training.

The MTN Foundation Programme continues this initiative through Phase 8, with a focus on female microbusiness owners in six states.

Prize Grant

The MTN ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 8 also provides an opportunity for participants to compete for equipment grants.

The top 100 participants will receive grants of up to ₦1,000,000 each.

The total grant fund is ₦100,000,000.

The grant is an equipment grant, and receiving training does not guarantee a grant. Only the top 100 participants will receive the grant opportunity based on the programme’s selection process.

Who Can Apply for MTN ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 8?

Applicants must meet all the stated requirements.

You must:

  • Be a Nigerian female
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Own and manage a microbusiness
  • Have operated the business for no more than two years
  • Have your business located in Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano or Gombe State

Applicants outside the six listed states do not meet the stated location requirement for Phase 8.
