Solar Innovators Research Fellowship

The Solar Innovators Research Fellowship 2026 opens a strong path for African researchers who want to contribute to solar technology, manufacturing systems, and renewable energy development.

The Solar Innovators Research Fellowship gives young African researchers the opportunity to gain advanced knowledge, conduct applied research, and work with experts in solar energy technology.

This Post will guide to explains everything you need to know about the Solar Innovators Fellowship. You will learn the eligibility requirements, benefits, application steps, and tips to increase your chances of selection.

About Solar Innovators Research Fellowship

The Solar Innovators Research Fellowship (SIRF) is a 4-month intensive virtual research fellowship combining advanced technical coursework with hands-on research projects tied directly to RETTI’s solar panel factory and R&D ecosystem.

SIRF is a four-month research fellowship focused on solar PV materials science, device physics, manufacturing systems, and data-driven optimization.

The Solar Innovators Research Fellowship (SIRF) is designed by Renewable Energy Technology Training Institute (RETTI), supported under the WOCEWA (Women and Clean Energy in West Africa) small grant framework, a programme of the ECOWAS Commission implemented through the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE).

SIRF is delivered fully online through virtual lectures, real-time video demonstrations, and guided research mentorship. Optional local lab support may be available where applicable.
